Four new trustees have been elected to the APA – The Engineered Wood Association Board of Trustees, filling vacancies created by retirements and new executive assignments.
Bruce Alexander, Senior Vice President, Sales, Marketing and Logistics for Norbord, has been with Norbord since May 1, 2017. He has over 25 years of experience in the wood products industry, with positions at International Forest Products Ltd. (Interfor) and Raute North America. His experience also includes several years in the helicopter industry holding the role of Chief Operating Officer with Highland Helicopters Ltd. He holds an MBA from the University of Western Ontario and B.Sc. in Forestry from University of British Columbia.
Andrew Konieczka, Vice President and General Manager, Plywood & Composite Panels for Georgia-Pacific, started his career with Koch Industries in 1992 as a project engineer in Koch Materials Company (KMC). He also held sales management and supply and trading positions and served as vice president. After the sale of the majority of KMC's business, Konieczka joined the newly created Koch Cellulose, LLC. He joined GP after the company was acquired by Koch in 2006 and has spent the past 12 years at GP, with the last seven as vice president and general manager of the plywood business. He assumed responsibility for the composite panel business earlier this year. Konieczka is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin with a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Mike Brown, Senior Vice President of Operations, Wood Products Manufacturing for Boise Cascade, has been with the company since 2009. In his time with Boise he has held a variety of positions, including manufacturing operations manager, southeast area manager, and southern region manager. Brown received an MBA from Cranfield University, England, and a Bachelor of Science degree in forestry from Australian National University in Canberra.
Jason Ringblom, Executive Vice President, OSB, for Louisiana Pacific, has been with LP since 2004 and assumed his role as head of OSB in January 2017. In his time with LP he has held a variety of positions, including vice president of OSB sales and marketing, regional sales manager for the eastern division of the United States, general sales manager for the southeast region, and OSB sales manager. He holds a B.S. in Forest Products Marketing and Business Management from the University of Minnesota.
Trustees leaving the APA Board include Mike Dawson, Norbord; Mark Leutters, GP; Mary Jo Nyblad, Boise Cascade; and Brad Southern, LP.
