Having troubles accessing APA's publications? Please try these troubleshooting tips.
I get a "login error" message.
The password you entered does not match the entry in our database. To have your password e-mailed to you, visit our Forgot Your Password page.
Your system says you have no record of my user name.
Be sure you are using your full e-mail address. Other sites require you to create a unique login name, which you must supply in addition to your password. Your user name at any APA site is the e-mail address you provided when registering. Additionally, prior to February 2005, APA did not require registration for access to publications. If you have not downloaded a publication since then, you may not have a record in our database.
I've never downloaded a PDF before, but you say I have a password. How can that be?
The same database we use for PDF publications registration also works for other sections of APA's sites, including Wood University, Members Only, Professional Associates, and our Publications Store. If you have entered your e-mail address and specified a password for one of these sections, you will already be in our database, even if you have not registered for access to PDF publications. If you've forgotten that password, go to our Forgot Your Password page.
I enter my user name and password and click "submit" but I just get a blank screen.
Please be sure you have the latest version of Acrobat Reader, available as a free download from Adobe. APA's publications may not open with old editions of Reader.
I'm using AOL.
AOL's internal browser settings sometimes interfere with our system. Most computers have Microsoft Internet Explorer or another browser installed as well. Please log in to AOL to connect to the internet and then open another browser to access APA's site.
Still having problems? Here are a few things to try:
- Some firewalls and popup blockers can interfere with the download of PDFs. Be sure your settings allow you to download PDF files from apawood.org.
- Clean out your cookies and your temporary internet files and try again.
- Some of our publications are quite large in file size. If you have a 56k modem connection, they can take quite a while to download.
If none of these troubleshooting tips work, please contact us by e-mail at member.login@apawood.org. Please include a detailed description of the problem you are having and the specifications of your operating system, internet browser and version, connection type, and Acrobat Reader version in your e-mail.
